Shanahan leads the Department of Public Safety, a major agency of our state. In his capacity as leader of that department, he fired Capitol Police Chief Tony Asion, citing his off-duty security work as the reason. Capitol Police officers have long been among the poorest paid among local law enforcement, a field of work where moonlighting is standard.

He should be ashamed of himself! And the man he fired should get his job back!
The guy is a crook and a bully from way back. I remember him when he was Tom Feltzer’s pet bulldog. To put him in charge of public safety is like letting loose a whole cage of foxes in the hen house.
He should resign. Immediately.
